Darden-Perry Academy is thrilled to announce proposed year of opening in 2027! We will be a K-12 year around public charter school located in the heart of Wilmington, NC. Our commitment to creating an inclusive, bimodal learning community integrating both Spoken English and Sign Language to ensure that every student thrives, including those who are Hearing and Deaf/Hard of Hearing, Join us as we embark on this transformative journey toward an enriching educational experience for all!
Darden-Perry Academy is intentionally designed as a K–12 public charter school with a clear college- and career-ready pathway for every student.
The school will open with a launch cohort in a right-sized learning environment that prioritizes strong relationships, language access, and instructional coherence. As enrollment grows and milestones are met, Darden-Perry Academy will expand grade levels and facilities to support the full realization of its long-term K–12 model.

Mission: At Darden-Perry Academy, our mission is to provide an inclusive bilingual-bimodal education that empowers all students, including Hearing, Deaf/Hard of Hearing, gifted, and exceptional. We strive to create a supportive environment where every learner can grow and thrive together, ensuring no one is behind.
Philosophy: Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that education is a shared journey. We emphasize the importance of community, rigorous academics, and support. By fostering full communication access every classroom, we aim to prepare our students success in college, careers, and leadership roles, while embracing diverse learning needs and celebrating each child.
Our mission reflects a full K–12, college-ready journey for every student. To support a safe, scalable launch, we begin with foundational grades and expand intentionally over the years, ensuring continuity of experience and excellence at every step.
